The Jasper Artists Guild is hiring a Gallery Attendant for the Jasper Art Gallery on a full-time seasonal basis.

​

The Jasper Art Gallery is the home to visual art created by Jasper and regional artists. The Gallery is visited by thousands of visitors annually, many of whom take home a memory of our beautiful location in the form of a painting, photograph or three-dimensional piece of art.

 

Our Gallery Attendant becomes the ambassador for our artists, meeting and greeting visitors and locals alike, and helping them purchase a piece or two of art, completing the sales transaction and helping our visitors to have happy and satisfying memories of time in Jasper. The Gallery Attendants also learn some of the behind-the-scenes activities that help make the Jasper Art Gallery successful.

A successful candidate will learn opening and closing procedures,  meet and greet our guests, learn about our artists, sell our artists art work, enter sales on our point of sale system and learn behind the scenes activities such as inventory input and management, participating in promotional and marketing activities, poster distribution and enjoy relationships with members of Jasper's visual art community. ​

Position Details

• English Fluency Level required for position: Advanced​

​

Responsibilities of Gallery Attendant include:

• Opening and closing the Jasper Art Gallery daily.

• Meeting and greeting visitors and customers.

• Getting to know our artists' biographies.

• Selling our artists' work.

• Entering sales on our point of sale system.

• Inputting inventory on our Inventory Management System.

• Participating in promotional and marketing activities.

• Poster distribution.

• Great customer service.

• Cultivate wonderful relationships with our artists.

Position Requirements:

• Cheerful and outgoing personality.

• Enjoys meeting people in a retail environment.

• Comfort with computer systems and Point of Sale (POS) systems. 

• Communication skills in English (additional language skills an asset).

• Appreciates art and culture.

• Self-starter and flexibility. 

​
